Interesting fact. I guess this finding can be developed as forecasting tool that I believe will be very useful to control the world politic and economy stabilization.

Ben, there's no separate forum, user profiles, or messaging - yet. That will come later. (Which reminds me we should probably add "beta" to our logo.)

From your years of activism you know that new projects should start with specific, attainable goals and grow and expand as circumstances allow. In the meantime, we appreciate your feedback and patience!

Your post make me realize that commenting is one of democratic implementation in online world. I think it is true although sometime readers still have limitation in speak up their opinion. Many times I found that comments with contrary with writer opinion are removed.

I don't understand.
Foundationally the project builds on the philosophy of social software, yes?
But I couldn't find anything like a forum ... I couldn't find anything like user profiles or any form of messaging ... nothing like discussion of platform items here ... heck, you haven't even posted that the platform was complete!

I know critique is sufficient grounds for accusations of dis-loyalty and just plain bad attititude ... I've been a street-level activist since '73 and a web activist since '95, I've seen personality politics at work ... but how is it that such a fine slab of programming is ham strung in this way? (<i>"<b>Ham strung</b>" ... to cripple an animal or an enemy by cutting the ham strings, the huge tendons that run from the knee up into the thigh.</i>)

Picking a hosting is difficult matter as hosting is vital part of site/blog. Good content is nothing without good hosting. This survey result is useful at this stage.

Very interesting. ThePoint sounds like it resolves the "volunteers dilemma" I read about in some game theory book. Applied to boycotting, it's the idea that unilateral boycotting punishes yourself more than your intended victim. ThePoint allows zero self-punishment unless and until the victim is majorly punished.

Vanessa,
You have stumbled upon the question to which there is no one answer: which webhost do I go with? The "best" can change every day, for minor reasons or no reason at all. The online directories are either outdated, or tainted because of referral fees offered by some providers. Tech listserves usually dedicate a good amount of time every week to arguing about this!

Right now, slicehost is the top among new startups :-)
