Of the 79 million Baby Boomers, approximately 30% have college degrees. Many might consider returning to college full time as an affordable path to a meaningful encore career. Empty nesters may find a void in life when their children are launched. Their social activities have been mainly connected to the activities of their children.

Isn't college expensive? Actually, when you break it down, maybe not. The cost of living portion, including room, board and transportation are typically in the $8,000 and $12,000 per year range, an affordable option for many. Student health insurance can be as little as $800 per year. Vehicles are often not necessary, with walking, biking, mopeds, buses used for transportation.
